Installing a bat house on your property will create a safe and lasting habitat for the little night time aerial acrobats.We proudly hand craft each shelter in our tiny woodworking shop in the Upper Midwest. Some lower priced, imported bat shelters on the market are often constructed with a thin cut lumber known as chinese cedar. We use thick (~3/4-7/8 inch) quality grade cedar. Your Western Red Cedar shelter is naturally resistant to damage and decay, ensuring years of use in harsh outdoor environments. Narrow interior dimensions provide a cozy environment conducive to heat retention. Each bat house arrives at your door ready to install, there are pre-drilled mounting holes in the lower section, and a steel hanger installed on the back. Think twice before buying a Chinese made bat house! Most bat houses on the market are made in China with cheap, thin (1/2 inch) lumber. They tend to warp and split within the first year.
